How does the EcO2 system work?
Our Service Terminal will feature the EcO2 Controlled Atmosphere technique, which is specifically designed to eradicate insects in all stages of development from food products, rattan and wooden furniture and handicrafts and is based on low-oxygen treatment.

Our EcO2 Service Terminal has more than enough capacity for handling all kinds of products. Boxes, bags, pallets and even full containers can be connected to our system.

Vermin control with the EcO2 Controlled Atmosphere technique takes place in airtight climate rooms. Each climate room can handle various sorts and quantities of products. Customers can bring goods for treatment and goods will be disinfected between 1 to 8 days; depending on type of product and type of contamination.

The atmosphere within the room is computer controlled by which the temperature, oxygen level and humidity are regulated. The whole process is based on a closed circuit in which the oxygen is burnt. The process is extremely energy efficient, resulting in reduced operating costs.

The modified circumstances increase insect activity so the insects are even more sensitive to a low level of oxygen. The low oxygen level is responsible for the elimination of the insects, larvae and eggs. The treatment time depends on the type of insects. EcO2 knowledge centre exactly knows which treatment conditions are best suited for each specific insect and product.

Outside air is blown into the rooms after treatment till the circumstances in the rooms are normal again. Then the rooms can be opened and the disinfected product is taken out for transport or further packing. The products are certified and marked with the EcO2 control stamp after treatment

The process will be started, monitored, managed and stopped online from the head office with the help of a computer program. All of our locations are centrally monitored with this remote controlled method. In this way multiple sites can be monitored, which results in standardized procedures and constant quality.

EcO2 Vietnam Co. Ltd. offers sourcing, disinfecting, sorting, grading, packaging, storage and exporting of agro commodities and other products. Your products can also be repacked in several ways after treatment; from vacuum to modified atmosphere packing.

Containers with the treated products will be disinfected before loading and will be sealed with special materials and meshing. This ensures no re-infestation during transport to the country of destination.

As the Controlled Atmosphere technique is based on low-oxygen instead of toxic chemicals, there is absolutely no risk of potentially harmful residues remaining in the product. The products are ready for long-term storage or further processing. Besides this, th e Controlled Atmosphere technique is also an approved technique in organic production according to regulation (EEG) nr. 2092/91.
